Representatives of all national cultural centers active in Semipalatinsk held a regional forum devoted to the 15th anniversary of the Peoples Assembly of Kazakhstan and discussed its work results. The Assembly was created in 1995 under the initiative of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. It was the time when all former Soviet Union states were undergoing severe political, economic, and social crisises. The leader of our state invited everybody under one shanyrak (one roof) uniting 130 ethnical groups living in Kazakhstan.
In Semipalatinsk House of Friendship there are 14 ethno-cultural organizations working in close cooperation. Our major goal is to revive interest and respect to peoples’ history. Each ethno-cultural center has a collection of handicrafts and amateur talent groups. Our ethno-cultural center presented children-made works devoted to Jewish holidays. We told the audience about Jewish literature, Israeli cities, culture, and customs of our people.
The forum ended with a concert prepared by all national cultural centers.
