In the end of September the Jewish community of a city of Petropavlovsk celebrated one of the most favourite holidays - Rosh-ha-shana. Children perfected the concert program, vocal group "Shalom" rehearsed, and administration of Hesed prosecuted organizational subjects.

And long-awaited day has come. By tradition the first visitors were congratulated by the chairman of Jewish cultural center Rashbil Evdaev. Delivery of "Letters of thanks" from hands of Hesed director Svetlana Makarovsky with «gratitude expression for the creative approach to business and active participation in community life» became a highlight of this year. For example, Dmitry Almazov, has received "Letter of thanks" in a nomination «Mr. Helper» for the huge help to Hesed. Dmitry is both the singer and the dancer so he is always ready to help. We noted our volunteers Lyudmila Feshina and Valja Ivanov, the most active readers of library Leonid Vitkin and Igor Dementyev. Andrey Abakumov has been noted in a nomination for «the help in the decision of organizational questions of Hesed».

After the delivery of "Letters of thanks" the time for the most important part of a holiday - reading of blessings and the story about a holiday has come. It was made by volunteer Igor Guretsky. He has told about all symbols of a holiday and everybody listened to it with pleasure, especially when he blew shofar. And candles were lit by Clara Semykina.

After a small break the word has been given our children. They have prepared a small sketch «World Creation», told about the holiday, congratulated with kind verses, sang "Potpourri" on a theme of new year, danced dance with which have excellent performed in Karaganda. Performance has been met by a stunning applause. Group "Shalom" has pleased visitors with the singing.

The holiday has been wonderfully well done. Members of our community won't forget the holiday for a long time.
